Gunmen surrounded and opened fire on tourists hiking in the Baisaran Valley near pahalgam in anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir. About 28 people were killed in this incident. It is understood that about 20 people were injured and are receiving treatment. Modi cut short his trip to saudi arabia due to this incident. In the wake of the deadly terrorist attack on tourists in pahalgam, prime minister Narendra Modi has cut short his saudi arabia visit and hastily returned to India. He landed at the delhi airport on wednesday and held an emergency meeting at the airport itself.

Union External Affairs minister S. Jaishankar, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, and Foreign Secretary vikram Mistry were present in this emergency meeting. They briefed prime minister Modi on the attack. In this context, an interesting fact about the Prime Minister's return journey has come to light. Yes... Modi's plane flew over Pakistani airspace while going from india to the Saudi Arabian city of Jeddah. However, in the wake of the latest terrorist attack, the special plane in which prime minister Modi was flying did not enter Pakistani airspace while returning from Jeddah.

In fact, although pakistan had given permission to use its airspace, india seems to have rejected it. As a result, it flew differently from the regular flight path on its way back and reached Hastina. It seems that the prime minister did not want to reach india through that country's airspace in the wake of the pahalgam terror attack. It is known that pakistan has imposed a ban on the movement of indian aircraft through its airspace after february 26, 2019. In this context, it is said that during Modi's visit to Germany, india requested to use this airspace, but pakistan did not agree.
Since then, Modi has not been flying over Pakistani airspace. However, on august 27, 2024, indian prime minister Narendra Modi arrived via pakistan after completing his visit to Poland. At that time, it was reported that he flew over Islamabad and Lahore and reached Delhi.

However, it seems that although pakistan has granted permission to prime minister Modi, who is currently returning from Jeddah, to fly through its airspace, india has refused that permission.
