The box office has been slow this summer. On the one hand, movie collections have been impacted by the ongoing IPL matches. However, the weekly releases haven't been compelling enough to hold viewers' attention. A few short films are also being shown to audiences this week. They are Gymkhana, Chaurya Patham, and Sarangapani Jathakam.

The director of Saranga Pani Jathakam, Indraganti Mohanakrishna, is renowned for creating humorous, poignant dramas.  In the starring part this time, he collaborated with actor Priyadarshi, while vennela kishore also had a significant role.

The film's humor and astrological undertones are evident from the title and promotional materials.  Priyadarshi has been doing well, particularly since he was a major contributor to Court's success.  Many of his admirers are thrilled to see him return to comedy.  If the initial buzz is favorable, the picture may draw viewers based only on the reputation of the director and the star actor.

You should also see Chaurya Patham.  Famous for the box office hit Dhamaka, director Trinadha Rao Nakkina has launched his own production company, Nakkina Narratives.  His debut project under that label is this one.  Although they are many novices on the cast, they have experimented with diverse promotions.  It's a suspenseful, twisting crime-based thriller.

The third release is the Malayalam-dubbed movie Gymkhana.  Naslen, a Premalu native, is the main actor.  Recently, malayalam films have been becoming more popular in the telugu industry, mostly because they appeal to younger people.  The same demographic is the focus of this movie.  It might also go well with good word-of-mouth.

April is typically thought of as a good month for movie releases, but thus far, nothing has worked this month.  We must wait and watch if any of the aforementioned movies do well at the box office.
