Gautam Gambhir, the current head coach of the indian cricket team and former bjp mp, has received a death threat from a terrorist organization based in Kashmir. It is noteworthy that this threat has come following the recent terrorist attack in pahalgam town of Jammu and Kashmir. gautam Gambhir has approached the delhi police considering the safety of his family and filed a formal complaint, his delhi office said. Gambhir received this threat through an email. In it, only three words were mentioned, “I will kill you”, according to some media reports. Gambhir's office has issued a statement on the matter saying, "Former bjp mp and current head coach of the indian cricket team, gautam Gambhir, has received death threats from the 'ISIS Kashmir' organization.
On Wednesday, he approached the delhi police and filed a First Information Report (FIR). He has also filed a formal complaint to ensure the safety of his family." Gambhir received two threatening emails on tuesday afternoon and evening. Both contained the same threatening text. This is not the first time Gambhir has received such threats. It is noteworthy that in november 2021, when he was still a Member of Parliament, he received a similar threatening email. Gambhir, who had recently gone on a vacation to france with his family, returned to the country earlier this month. He has not been seen much in public since india won the Champions Trophy last March. As the indian team is currently playing in the IPL 2025, the indian team coaches have a break at this time. Gambhir is one of the many indian sports celebrities who condemned the pahalgam terror attack. He had posted on his X page, "I pray for the families of those who died in the attack. Those responsible for this will definitely be punished. india will retaliate." Gambhir's journey as the coach of the indian team has been full of ups and downs. Initially, his tenure started with a bit of a slump, with a loss in the ODI series against sri lanka and a 0-3 defeat in the Test series against new zealand on home soil.

Then, India's eight-year-old Border-Gavaskar Trophy loss to australia by a score of 1-3 came under heavy criticism. During that period, the indian team's dressing room conversations were leaked to the media, which further stirred controversy. However, the indian team has since rebounded under Gambhir's coaching. Notably, india won its second ICC trophy in nine months by defeating new zealand in the final of the recent Champions Trophy without losing a single match. The recent death threat incident has created a stir in the cricketing community. The police are conducting a thorough investigation into the safety of Gambhir and his family.
