Flowers dumped into wastebaskets at Koyambedu market due to heavy rainfall!!! 

Flower sales in chennai have come to a halt due to heavy rainfall. The flowers have begun to rot as the rainfall continues. Florists are discharging tons of flowers into the trash. Florists have expressed concern that crores of flowers have been wasted due to the non-arrival of retailers to buy flowers since Diwali.

It has been raining heavily in tamil Nadu for the last few days. The normal life of the people has been completely paralyzed due to the accumulation of floodwater in the low-lying areas. Many parts of chennai, Kanchipuram, Tiruvallur, and Chengalpattu districts have been flooded due to heavy rains in the last two days. Excess water is released as the lakes overflow. Many rivers are flooded. Residents in flood-hit areas have been rescued and are being held in safe places. people were left in the dark as the electricity was cut off.

Due to the continuous rainfall, all the flowers bought for the Deepavali and Kanda Sashti festivals at the Koyambedu flower market have rotted away. Traders dumped tons of flowers in the trash as small traders did not come to buy flowers. Traders have expressed concern that thousands of rupees have been lost due to the non-sale of flowers and they have to pay the borrower as well as the shop rent and electricity bills. It is noteworthy that all the flowers that were supposed to be sold for several thousand rupees on the day of the Deepavali festival were thrown in the garbage by the rain.

Meanwhile, the indian Meteorological Department said that depression will form in the south-eastern Bay of bengal in the next 24 hours. It has been reported that there is a possibility of heavy rain in tamil Nadu for the next 5 days.
