Google slapped with second fine in India...


To stop the arbitrariness of the search engine google, the Competition Commission of india (CCI) has imposed a fine of Rs 936.44 crore on google on Tuesday. This fine has been assessed due to unfair business practises in regard to Play Store policies. google has misused its dominant position, according to the CCI. Additionally, the business has been ordered to stop using unfair commercial tactics.

The CCI said that google has unfairly exploited its dominance in the Play Store market. Along with this, the commission has ordered to pay Rs 936.44 crore as penalty on the company. On october 20, the watchdog fined the corporation Rs. 1,337.76 crore for abusing its control of certain markets for Android mobile devices and ordered the internet giant to stop engaging in a number of unfair business practises.

Google had earlier imposed a fine of Rs 1,337 crore

In a statement, the CCI claimed that it had ordered google to change its behaviour within a given time limit. This is the second time in less than a week that google has been fined by the CCI. Earlier on october 20, the CCI had fined google Rs 1,337.76 crore for abusing its dominant position in multiple markets with respect to Android mobile devices.
