Bank Holidays Latest Update Today: RBI has given special instructions to the banks regarding the closing of the financial year.

According to RBI guidelines, bank branches will remain open till march 31 for annual closing. In this regard, RBI has written to all agency banks to keep their designated branches open for over-the-counter transactions relating to government transactions during normal working hours on march 31, 2023. RBI also directed that all government transactions done by agency banks for the financial year 2022-23 should be booked within the same financial year.


"Transactions through National Electronic Funds Transfer (NEFT) and Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) systems will continue till 2400 hours (midnight) on march 31, 2023," RBI said in the letter. RBI also said in the letter, “Concerning reporting of Central and State government transactions to RBI, including uploading of GST/TIN2.0/e-receipt luggage files, the reporting window of march 31, 2023, has been extended to april 1, 2023.” Will be kept open till 1200 noon.


RBI said that special clearing will be conducted for the collection of government checks on march 31, for which the Department of Payment and Settlement Systems (DPSS) of RBI will issue necessary instructions. Regarding reporting of central and state government transactions to RBI, including uploading of GST or TIN2.0 e-receipt luggage files, the central bank said, the reporting window of march 31 will be kept open till noon on april 1.
