In Patna, the capital of Bihar, the price of a liter of petrol has fallen below Rs.108. Here, petrol prices fell by 38 paise to Rs 107.74 and diesel by 35 paise to Rs 94.51. In India, oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) like indian oil, Bharat Petroleum, and Hindustan Petroleum decide the prices of petrol and diesel, which is done on a daily basis, and the rates are fixed according to the global crude oil price.
Why do fuel prices change?
Each day the rates are announced at 6am that day, whether new or unchanged. But these vary from state to state; This is due to standards like value-added tax (VAT), freight charges, local taxes, etc.
