Badshah Asks Nikhil Kamath Where He Can Invest Rs 3 Crore

In a recent episode of his podcast WTF, Nikhil Kamath from Zerodha shared his investment advice with rapper badshah and actress Kriti Sanon. During the discussion, which Kamath moderated, they covered various topics including business strategy and investment approaches.

When badshah asked where to invest Rs 3 crore for guaranteed returns, Kamath recommended focusing on the energy transition sector. He explained that as fossil fuels are phased out, renewable energy is becoming increasingly significant.

“Energy transition is crucial; historically, many wars have been fought over energy resources,” Kamath noted.

He suggested that investing in solar energy companies, electric vehicle producers, and battery manufacturers could be highly profitable, especially with government incentives promoting renewable energy. Kamath also advised entrepreneurs to avoid crowded markets and instead target industries with substantial growth potential over the next decade.

Using bollywood as an example, he pointed out that many investors enter the industry hoping to get close to celebrities but often end up with unfruitful investments. He likened bollywood to a funnel where money flows in but often doesn’t return.

“Choose a sector you believe will expand five to ten times in the next decade,” Kamath advised. He stressed the importance of thorough research before investing and warned against investing solely based on personal interest.

While kriti sanon mentioned that her venture into skincare was driven by passion rather than calculated business strategy, Kamath acknowledged the value of passion but cautioned that it’s not always enough. He highlighted that fields driven primarily by passion can be highly competitive and less likely to succeed.

“In my experience, if something doesn’t work from the start, it probably never will,” Kamath concluded.
