Amazon Boosts Commissions for Creators Ahead of Great indian Festival
Amazon has announced a significant increase in commission rates for over 50,000 content creators across more than 20 sub-categories. This change, aimed at enhancing earnings during the busy festive season, will see creators receiving 1.5x to 2x more income across various product categories, including fashion, beauty, home goods, kitchen appliances, toys, and books.

This announcement comes just ahead of the amazon Great indian Festival, which kicks off on september 27. The company stated that this increase will allow creators to maximize their earnings during the peak shopping period.

Zahid Khan, director of Shopping Initiatives for india and Emerging Markets at amazon, emphasized that this support will benefit not only the creators but also enhance the shopping experience for customers.

In addition to the commission hike, amazon has introduced target-linked incentives of up to 10-15% of revenue generated. As part of the amazon Live program, numerous creators are set to conduct over 1,500 live streams in categories like Mobiles, home Appliances, Fashion, and beauty during the festival.

The Great indian Festival will begin on september 27, offering Prime members a 24-hour early access.

A recent Ipsos Research study commissioned by amazon india highlights strong enthusiasm among shoppers, with 89% expressing excitement for the festivities. Notably, 71% plan to shop online this year, with nearly half of them expecting to spend more than in previous years. This trend is particularly prominent in metro areas (55%) and tier-2 cities (43% in populations between 1 to 4 million).

Convenience plays a significant role in the online shopping sentiment, with 76% of respondents valuing the ability to shop anytime and anywhere. Other important factors include fast delivery (74%), trust in online platforms for authentic products (75%), and accessible payment options such as no-cost EMI (75%).
