The letter said that the action taken by the US Department of Justice (DOJ) on the adani Group was based on an alleged conspiracy to bribe officials in India. According to the MPs, this matter was related to india and should have been settled there, but the Biden administration took it forward going against American interests. The US MPs called the action against the adani Group unnecessary and feared interference by external forces in it. He said that complicating relations with an ally like india without any concrete reason is beyond comprehension. The MPs termed it a 'misguided crusade' and said that it could weaken the India-US partnership.

The MPs appealed to the Attorney General to investigate the conduct of the Justice Department of the Biden administration and share all records related to this matter. He said that it is important to maintain the spirit of mutual respect and cooperation between the US and india, which was strengthened during the tenure of President donald trump and prime minister Narendra Modi. The MPs warned that such decisions could increase mistrust in the relations between the two countries, which should be investigated impartially.
