Tuhin Kant Pandey took over as the new SEBI chief!

Tuhin Kant Pandey, the new chairman of the stock market regulator SEBI, has promised to focus on transparency and 'team-work'. Tuhin Kant Pandey said these things on saturday when he took over as the 11th chairman of SEBI. Pandey, who has been working as the Finance Secretary till now, described SEBI as a 'strong market institution', which has been shaped by various giants over the years.

Tuhin Kant Pandey refused to say anything about the agenda of his tenure at SEBI. Also, former SEBI chief Madhabi puri was seen avoiding saying anything on Buch's tenure full of controversies. Buch was accused of many irregularities in the last few months of his tenure. Buch was not present when Pandey reached the SEBI headquarters in Bandra Kurla Complex. It is said that she is unwell and has a covid infection.

The central government on Thursday, february 27, decided to appoint Tuhin Kant Pandey as the chairman of SEBI. The new SEBI chief said, SEBI is a very strong market institution. It has been built with leading people continuously over the years and this process will continue. Outlining his objectives, the new chairman described four Ts - trust, transparency, teamwork and technology as his main focus areas. He said, "I think these four elements make SEBI unique, and we will continue to build one of the best market institutions in the world." There has been some activity in SEBI in the last few months, where a large section of its employees protested against the management.

Tuhin Kant Pandey will take over as the head of SEBI at a time when the market is facing bearish pressure after the withdrawal of foreign institutional investors (FIIs). Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) have withdrawn more than Rs 1 lakh crore since January.
