

EV vehicle owners will loose money, government took big decision!
maharashtra Finance minister ajit pawar has made a big announcement regarding electric vehicles (EV) while presenting the budget for the year 2025-26. ajit pawar announced that if the price of electric vehicles in the state exceeds 30 lakhs, then a tax of seven percent will be levied on them. That is, luxury electric vehicles are going to be taxed in the state. However, the price of most such vehicles is still less than 30 lakhs.
The maharashtra government has made a provision to allocate a fund of Rs 6,589 crore for road construction in the state. A target has also been set to build 1500 km of road in the financial year 2025-26. These also include Mukhyamantri Gram Sadak Yojana and Pradaan Mantri Sadak Yojana.

Talking about the sale of electric vehicles, 19.5 lakh electric vehicles were sold across the country in 2024 alone. maharashtra ranks first in terms of sale of electric vehicles. In 2024 alone, 2,10,174 electric vehicles were sold here. The biggest share of this is of two-wheelers. Actually, the maharashtra government had arranged for subsidy on the purchase of electric vehicles. Purchases have increased in two big cities of maharashtra, mumbai and Pune. In maharashtra, there was a saving of Rs 25 thousand on the purchase of two-wheelers, up to Rs 30 thousand on 3-wheelers and up to Rs 2.5 lakh on the purchase of four-wheelers. However, now with the new provision, those who dream of buying luxury electric vehicles will now have to bear the burden of tax as well.

Reactions have started coming in on the budget. deputy cm Eknath Shinde said, "Whatever we said in our manifesto was not a printing mistake. Everything will be implemented. This announcement is for five years. We will implement every announcement accordingly." cm devendra fadnavis said, "Maharashtra's fiscal deficit has stopped at 2.9 percent. The estimate for next year has been kept at 2.7 percent. We can take a loan of 25 percent on our total GSDP but we are currently taking only 18 percent."
