Parking throughout Uttar Pradesh is set for a major overhaul, with the development of smart zones presenting FASTag integration, electric-powered car (EV) charging factors, and handheld point-of-sale (POS) gadgets, the state authorities said Tuesday. Acting on chief minister Yogi Adityanath's directives, the urban improvement department has drafted a comprehensive plan to modernize parking structures across most important towns, aiming to beautify public convenience and enhance site visitors control, it stated. "Preparations are underway to equip parking locations with a collection of modern-day technology.
Along with FASTag compatibility for seamless payment, plans encompass the setup of EV charging points to cater to the developing number of electric motors," the UP government said within the declaration. It added that other deliberate features encompass computerized ticket dispensers, CCTV cameras for security and tracking, virtual signage for statistics display, boom obstacles for managed admission, and handheld POS gadgets for flexible price alternatives. "These enhancements will notably enhance transparency in parking operations. The combination of technology like FASTag and automatic systems is expected to offer customers faster access and exit, disposing of the need to wait in queues," it added. Under the new plan, on-road parking becomes more expensive, especially during peak hours—9 am to noon and 5 pm to 8 pm—and on weekends. The very last selections on fees and timings will be made via the Parking Control Committee, it said. A strict action plan has been formulated to tackle unauthorized parking. Smart structures will be mandatory at all parking websites, vintage and new, with clean markings for targeted regions, it stated. Violators will face strict penalties, and encroachments will be removed right away. The brand-new clever parking device aims to ease parking and reduce urban traffic congestion.
