Weighing scales, scales, electronic scales, scales, etc. in trade are renewed annually by the Department of Legal Metrology, Assistant Controller of Government. These devices are inspected by this department.
The government has levied charges based on that equipment. It is renewed after paying the fee. It also includes petrol pumps. The fuel nozzle (petrol filling device) at the petrol pump is licensed.
Each fuel nozzle has to pay a fee of Rs. 5,000 per year for renewal. The Assistant Controller Valid Metrology Department is responsible for Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg District.
Petrol pumps are inspected by the officers of this department. In the meantime, if they are 1 to 3 months late in renewing their license, they will be charged an additional fee.
A notice has been issued at five petrol pumps in Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg district, for measuring sin. This action has been taken by the Assistant Controller of Valid Metrology to fill 25 ml less petrol in every five litres.
Relevant pump operators have been instructed to renew their licenses by amending them. This has come to the fore in the investigation carried out by the team at the headquarters of this department.
Thus, the possibility of a sudden inspection at any time has created a lot of fear among the petrol pump holders.
In november 2021, a team from the headquarters of the Department of Valid Metrology inspected the petrol pumps in the districts. 5 litres of petrol were taken from some fuel nozzles.
A few millilitres less petrol was found in the above five pumps. According to the rules of the valid metrology department, action is taken if less than 25 ml of petrol is found.
Accordingly, notices have been issued to 5 petrol pumps in both the districts. It has been ordered to repair the fuel nozzle as soon as possible.
In november 2021, teams from our department headquarters inspected the petrol pumps in Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg district. A notice has been issued to the concerned pumps for filling 25 ml less petrol in 5 litres. It has been asked to improve and refuel the fuel nozzle.
