YouTube turned coach: Addiction made basketball player swoon, learned tricks by watching YouTube
Delhi police has arrested two chain snatchers. Both used to swoon. One of the two arrested accused is a national-level basketball player. The basketball player got into the world of crime to fulfill his addiction.
Delhi's Dwarka district police have arrested a haryana national-level basketball player along with his accomplice on charges of snatching. The player was scrambling to clear the loan amount. He also learned the tricks of snatching on YouTube. police have recovered a gold chain from his possession. He had mortgaged it in Bahadurgarh-based muthoot Finance for Rs 31,000. The accused has been identified as Rohit Chhillar, a resident of Barhai village, Bahadurgarh haryana while his accomplice has been identified as Shantanu, a resident of Shankhol village, Bahadurgarh Haryana.
On february 22, bike-borne miscreants snatched a gold chain from a woman riding a scooter in the baba Haridas nagar area. The responsibility of investigating the matter was handed over to the special staff of the district. Under the leadership of Inspector Naveen, the police team searched the footage of more than a hundred CCTV cameras installed in the direction of the escape of the miscreants along with the spot. Through this, the police came to know that Rohit and Shantanu were involved in the incident. After that, the police team raided Bahadurgarh and arrested both of them.
During interrogation, both confessed to their involvement in the snatching. Rohit told that he has mortgaged the chain to muthoot Finance in Bahadurgarh. Rohit Chillar has studied till the 12th. He used to play basketball during his school days. After leaving school, he took up basketball coaching and played for haryana at the national level. Later he fell into bad company and started consuming drugs. To feed his addiction, he started borrowing money from his friends and relatives. This put him in huge debt.
In the Krishna nagar area of Shahdara district, miscreants shot dead a young man on sunday afternoon for protesting against the snatching of a woman. The young man was badly injured after being shot in the shoulder. The victim Jaswinder alias Jassi (35) in critical condition was rushed to a nearby hospital from where he was referred to GTB Hospital.
On the other hand, the woman went away after the incident without giving any complaint. At present, Krishna nagar police station has registered a case in this regard and started an investigation. Apart from the local police, special staff, AATS and crime branch teams of the district are looking for the accused. police are searching for the woman who was the victim of snatching. police have got important clues from the footage of CCTV cameras.
