FIR registered against teacher in molestation case…


A case was registered against a government school teacher in hamirpur district after a 16-year-old girl accused him of molestation. police gave this information on Tuesday. Superintendent of police Bhagat Singh Thakur said that a case has been registered against commerce teacher Shashikant Sharma at hamirpur Mahila police station on the complaint of a Dalit girl student of class 12. After the matter came to light, the girl's family and other local people created a ruckus in the school and allegedly beat up the teacher.


police said that a case of sexual harassment of a minor under Section 75 of the indian Justice Code (BNS) and Section 12 of the POCSO Act and Section 3 (1) of the scheduled caste / Scheduled Tribe Act has also been registered along with a case of intentionally insulting or intimidating a member of the Scheduled Caste. Deputy Director, Higher Education, hamirpur Anil Kaushal said that orders have been given for a departmental inquiry into the matter.

In the complaint given to the school management and police, the student said that on august 16, the teacher misbehaved and molested her. When the people of the area came to know about this, they reached the school with the student's family and beat up the teacher here.


The police team reached the spot and handled the situation. A case has been registered in the matter under section 354 of the indian Penal Code. Information about this was given by SP hamirpur Bhagat Singh Thakur. SP said "A case has been registered in the women's police station hamirpur on the complaint of the victim girl. The girl has accused the teacher of molestation. All aspects of the case are being investigated".
