IIT guwahati Student Found Dead in Hostel Room: Fourth Case This Year

A tragic incident occurred at the indian Institute of technology (IIT) guwahati when a third-year Computer Science student was found dead in his hostel room on Monday. The student, who was from Uttar Pradesh, was discovered in his room at the Brahmaputra Hostel. The police have launched an investigation into the cause of death, and the body has been sent for a postmortem examination.

This incident marks the fourth student death at IIT guwahati this year. Previously, on august 9, a female student was found hanging in her room under similar circumstances.

In response to this recent tragedy, an IIT guwahati spokesperson expressed deep sorrow, stating, "IITG is deeply saddened to report the loss of a student from our community. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the student’s family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time."

The spokesperson emphasized that the well-being of students is a top priority for the institution. "IITG is committed to providing support and resources to help students navigate the challenges they may face. We encourage our student community to reach out to our support networks. IITG reaffirms its commitment to fostering a supportive and safe environment for all students."
