CBI's big action, former principal arrested in r*pe-murder case…
cbi has taken a big step in the rape-murder case of a junior doctor at RG Kar Medical college and Hospital in Kolkata. The central investigating agency has arrested former principal of RG Kar Medical college sandeep Ghosh on saturday (September 14). He is in judicial custody till september 23. Earlier, the cbi had arrested the former principal in the case of financial irregularities. Now the latest arrest has been made in the rape-murder case. cbi has arrested sandeep Ghosh and SHO of Tala police station Abhijit Mandal for alleged delay in filing FIR and disappearance of evidence in the investigation of RG Kar rape case. sandeep will be produced in Sealdah court on Sunday.
Accused of tampering with evidence
According to sources, cbi investigation has revealed that both sandeep Ghosh and SHO of kolkata Police were allegedly involved in delaying the investigation and obstructing justice by tampering with evidence. Earlier this month, a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court had sent Sandip Ghose and three others to judicial custody till september 23 in a case of financial irregularities.
Sandip Ghose kept in solitary confinement
Ghosh is currently kept in a solitary confinement cell in the Presidency Central Jail, where he was brought earlier this week. Ghose was arrested by the cbi on september 2 after the calcutta High court ordered a cbi probe into the case following the rape and murder of a junior doctor on the campus. On august 9, the body of a 31-year-old junior doctor was found in the seminar hall of Kolkata's RG Kar Medical college and Hospital. The post-mortem report revealed that she was brutally raped before being killed. Doctors across the country went on strike and protested over the case.
