Woman's Dismembered Body, Chopped Into Over 30 Pieces, Found Stuffed Inside Refrigerator 

A dismembered body a woman was found in a house in Malleswaram area in Bengaluru on Saturday. According to police, the victim’s body was chopped into over 30 pieces and was stuffed in a refrigerator.The woman, 29-year-old Mahalakshmi, had been living alone in a single-bedroom apartment in the area. Originally from Bihar, she had moved into the house about 4-5 months ago.The incident came to light after neighbours began complaining about a foul odour coming from the apartment.

The reason for the killing is still unknown, but police suspect it to be a murder that happened about a week ago. An investigation has been launched into the matter.Additional Commissioner of police (West Zone) N Satheesh Kumar said, “A woman’s body was found chopped into pieces and stored in a fridge at a house within the Vyalikaval police station limits. It appeared to have been done 4-5 days ago.”He further stated that the dog squad and forensic experts also visited the scene and began their investigation.

“The body has been identified. The probe is going on. We will give more information after the investigation. She was settled in karnataka but is originally from another state,” Kumar told the media while briefing about the case.

The woman, who was married, had been living separately from her husband because of frequent arguments. Mahalakshmi resided in Malleswaram and worked at a nearby garment factory, but she had not been to work for the past two weeks.Her husband, originally from Nepal, was employed at a hermitage outside the city. Upon learning about the incident, he also arrived at the scene.
