

Police caught accused of robbery by chasing in filmy style!
The team of Civil Lines police station of North district solved a sensational case of robbery of a Tata Canter driver on the highway within just 24 hours. Taking immediate action in this case, the police searched more than 125 CCTV cameras and chased an accused in a filmy style and caught him. He has been identified as Akash, a resident of majnu Ka Tila in Civil Lines, Delhi.

DCP raja Banthia said that on the intervening night of 23-24 february at around 3:00 am, a complaint of robbery of a Tata Canter driver Ajit Sharma near Hanuman temple on Karnal bypass, 1 km ahead of Kashmiri Gate ISBT was received by the Civil Lines police station. The complainant told that he works as a driver in Chirag Cargo Agency. While returning after unloading the goods from the vehicle, he stopped on the side of the road to urinate. Two unknown miscreants attacked him. One strangled him and the other escaped with his purse, which contained Rs 13,100, aadhar card and other documents.

As soon as the information of the incident was received, the Civil Lines police station swung into action and started investigation by registering an FIR. Considering the seriousness of the incident, a team of SI Nitin Sharma, Head Constable Anil Kumar, Vineet, Chetram, Rajkamal and Constable Rakesh was formed under the leadership of SI Lalit Kumar, in-charge of majnu Ka Tila outpost, under the guidance of ACP Anil Kumar and supervision of SHO Hanumant Singh.
Chased in filmy style while running 400 meters and caught
The team analyzed the footage of more than 125 CCTV cameras to catch the accused. The accused were also very clever, they stayed in Kashmiri Gate and Timarpur area for 4-5 hours after the incident to mislead the police. But the police found out the hideout of one of the accused by accurate tracking and raided the 56 Pahari Park area at around 11:45 pm on 24 february 2025. Seeing himself surrounded, the accused started running, on which the team chased him for about 400 meters and caught him. He was identified as 30-year-old Akash, who has previously been involved in two cases of robbery and theft.
