South beauty arrested at airport, brought 14.8 kg gold!
kannada actress Ranya Rao has been arrested at Kempegowda international airport in Bengaluru. The actress was caught at the airport on monday (March 4, 2025) on charges of gold smuggling. During the search, 14.8 kg of gold was recovered from Ranya, after which the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence arrested her.
According to PTI, Ranya Rao was produced in the Economic Offenses court after being arrested on monday night. After the appearance, the actress has been sent to 14-day judicial custody. According to officials, Rao had reached india from dubai by Emirates flight and she had allegedly brought 14.8 kg of gold hidden in her clothes.

After investigation, it is also being said that Ranya Rao was smuggling gold by wearing a large part of gold from dubai and hiding gold bars in her clothes. According to the news agency, the police were keeping an eye on Ranya Rao's frequent international trips. The actress had gone to dubai four times in 15 days and in such a situation the police got suspicious of her and took action against the actress as soon as they got the chance.

Initial investigation has also revealed that Ranya must have used recommendations to avoid customs investigation. She claimed to be the daughter of karnataka DGP and must have easily reached home due to local police personnel.
