Big gambling racket busted, police arrested 8 accused!
A joint team of Special Staff of Outer district and Mangolpuri police station has achieved great success in the action being taken against illegal gambling racket in the area. In this action, exposing a big gambling racket, the police arrested 8 accused involved in gambling from the spot and also recovered gambling material along with Rs 84,400 cash.
According to DCP Sachin Sharma, on march 4, 2025, the Special Staff police of the district received information about illegal gambling in H-Block of Mangolpuri. Taking it seriously, a team of Constable anand meena of Mangolpuri along with SI Ankit Singh of Special Staff, Head Constable Vijay, Head Constable upendra and Head Constable shakti was formed under the supervision of ACP narendra Khatri and under the leadership of Inspector Rohit, in-charge of Special Staff.
The accused were caught due to the vigilance of the police team
On the basis of secret information, the police team raided the place and found one person writing something on slips, while the other was inciting people to gamble. On seeing the police, the accused started running away, but the team acted swiftly and caught 8 persons. During the search, Rs 84,400 in cash and other gambling material were recovered.
Identification of the accused
The arrested accused have been identified as Monu (31), Vikram (27), Umesh (40), rahul (27) of Mangolpuri, Pawan (27) of Sultanpuri, amit (37) of Rohini, ravi (31) of Vijay vihar and ashish (37) of Mangolpur village.
Legal action continues
In this case, the police have registered an FIR under the delhi Public Gambling Act at Mangolpuri police station and arrested all the accused. Further action is going on in this case.
