Police nabs reward-carrying miscreant, absconding in liquor seizure case!

Aburoad Reico police station in Sirohi district of rajasthan has succeeded in arresting the accused who was absconding for the last six months in the case of liquor seizure worth Rs 1 crore. This accused was included in the list of top-10 wanted criminals at the police station level of the district and Sirohi police had announced a reward of Rs 25,000 on him.

What does the police say?

Sirohi SP Anil Kumar said that under the leadership of Thanadhikari Laxman Singh Champawat, a team of Assistant Sub Inspector Bhavani Singh, Constable Omprakash and Navit Kumar took action and arrested the accused Gurpreet Singh son Nachhatar Singh, resident of village Bara, Thana Sadar Ambala, district Ambala State Haryana. Gurpreet Singh was wanted in a major case of liquor smuggling and was continuously absconding.

This was the case

On september 1, 2024, Abu Road Rico police seized 1003 cartons of Chandigarh-made english liquor from a container during a blockade at Maval police post. In this action, an accused named Khumaram was arrested from the spot. During the investigation of the case, Rahul, pawan kumar and Chunaram were also arrested, while the main accused Gurpreet Singh was absconding since then.

The accused was cunning, was changing his hideout every time, police caught him

The police made continuous efforts by forming various teams to arrest Gurpreet Singh, but he kept changing his hideouts continuously due to being cunning. To avoid arrest, he kept hiding at different places every time. Finally, the police got information about his presence in Chandigarh. On this, the team raided there and seized him and brought him to Abu Road and arrested him after necessary legal action. The Superintendent of police had put Gurpreet Singh in the list of top-10 wanted criminals and announced a reward of Rs 25,000 on him. At present, further investigation of the case is going on. Many secrets may be revealed after the police investigation.
