Delhi's rohini Court has sentenced three convicts to life imprisonment in the case of gang rape of a minor. This heinous crime took place in december 2017 when the victim was kidnapped and gang-raped. In its verdict, the court termed this crime as painful, horrific and a deep blow to human dignity. Additional Sessions Judge Sushil bala Dagar, while sentencing the convicts under Section 376 D of the IPC and the POCSO Act, said that for such crimes it is necessary to send a message to the society that such incidents will not be tolerated in any form.

The court ordered compensation of Rs 10.5 lakh to the victim, believing that this amount cannot compensate for her emotional and mental suffering but it will definitely help her to start her life again.

delhi police demanded strict punishment
Advocate Yogita kaushik Dahiya, appearing on behalf of delhi police, argued that no leniency should be shown for this heinous crime. She said that the act of the culprits was condemnable and unforgivable for which they should get the harshest punishment.
