A SIM card that links you to the network is equally as vital as a phone that connects you to the network. As a result, every operator should have a set age limit for obtaining Sim cards. It is not difficult to obtain one these days, as long as you have the essential documents and meet the criteria.

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has made it illegal for anybody under the age of 18 to apply for or own a SIM card in the country.
This was revealed in a draught copy of the Commission's amended Registration of Telephone Subscribers Regulations, which was posted on the website.
Meanwhile, major parties, including MTN, asked the commission to modify the age restriction during the public hearing, which was held both physically and digitally.
MTN requested that the commission raise the age restriction to 14 years and up. The NCC, on the other hand, stipulated that anybody wanting to possess and register a SIM in nigeria must be at least 18 years old.

In India, there is no set age limit for getting a sim card; for example, airtel and bsnl both have a 17-year-old age limit, while Vodafone-Idea and reliance Jio both have 18-year-old age limits.
