Kamalapati, wife of Nizam Shah: 

Nizam Shah was a Gond king. He had seven wives and one among them was Kamalapati.

But Nizam Shah's nephew Alam Shah wanted to seize his uncle's property and make Kamalapati his own.


One day Alam Shah, his uncle Nizam Shah died after adding poison to his diet. After the death of Nizam Shah, his kingdom was taken over by Alam Shah. After the death of Nizam Shah, rani Kamalapati started living with her son Naval Shah at rani Kamalapati Mahal in Bhopal.


But rani Kamalapati wanted revenge for her husband's murder. rani Kamalapati's friend Mohammad Khan sought help in such a situation. At that time, Mohammad Khan ruled over present-day Islampur.

Rani Kamalapati turned to Mohammad Khan to avenge the murder of her husband. Promised to give lakh Asharfis as a reward. With that, Mohammad Khan killed Alam Shah.


After this, the queen was able to give only 50,000 Ashrafis to Mohammad Khan. In exchange for the remaining money, she gave him a portion of Bhopal.


Shambhu Dayal said that rani Kamalapati had good relations with Mohammad Khan.


Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also wrote on the same topic in a blog.

"Mohammed wanted to take over the entire kingdom of Bhopal. He proposed to rani Kamalapati to come to his harem and marry him.

With that, rani Kamalapati's 14-year-old son Naval Shah went to Lal Ghati with 100 of his warriors to fight Muhammad Khan. 


There was a fierce battle between them. Naval Shah died in it, ”Shivraj Singh Chauhan wrote in his blog.


"The ground turned red due to blood flooding in the area, hence the name Lal Ghati. In this battle, two warriors from rani Kamalapati survived.

Seeing this dire situation, rani Kamalapati opened the narrow passage leading to the large pond dam. 


This caused water from the large pond to enter the small pond. rani Kamalapati took the wealth of the palace with her and became a water mausoleum "


"By the time Mohammed Khan reached the fort, it was all gone. The bhopal pedestal was not given to other religions while rani Kamalapati was alive. rani Kamalapati's life ended in 1723. After her death, bhopal passed into the hands of the Nawabs.
