A detailed consultation meeting on the investigation into the accident and the incident took place on 09.12.2021 this evening. Under the leadership of C. Sylendra Babu, a meeting was held at Coonoor to investigate the witnesses. police have arrested 26 people in connection with an army helicopter crash in Coonoor in the Nilgiris district. According to a statement issued by the Nilgiris police, an investigation has been launched into the helicopter crash. On the morning of 08.12.2021, the commander of the Tri-Forces, Mr. Bipin Rawat, his wife, and 12 other army officers traveled. The helicopter crashed into a nearby forest and burst into flames while flying out of the air at Nanjappa Chatram, near the Coonoor Military Training college Malebennur police station.

Upon learning of the incident, the police rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation with the help of the public. Following the rescue operation, the commander of the three forces, Mr. Bipin Rawat, his wife, and 11 other army personnel were killed. The group captain of the aircraft, Mr.Varun Singh was the only person rescued alive and is currently in intensive care.
The director of Forensics also gave detailed advice and suggestions at this consultation meeting. A case under Section 174 (Criminal Procedure Code) No. 129/2021 of Malebennur police station has been registered in this regard. Mr. muthu Manikkam Additional Superintendent of police Nilgiris district has been appointed for this investigation. So far 26 witnesses have been questioned.
