Insurance Policy: Notification to avoid fake claim??

However, now the government and insurance companies have become strict about this. Now if any accident happens to anyone, then in such a situation the police will investigate thoroughly, only after that necessary action will be taken. The Ministry of Road Transport, government of india has issued a notification for this. According to the notification, the insurance policyholder will have to enter his mobile number.


According to the notification, it will be the responsibility of the police to prepare the road accident report within the prescribed limit. Also, the police will have to take the videography of the accident site and inform the insurance company and claims tribunal within 48 hours of the accident. At the same time, the detailed accident report will also have to be submitted within 60 days. The Ministry of Road Transport believes that with this change, fake claims will be curbed and claims will be curbed with speed.

The central government issued the notification. It will be necessary to give the mobile number in the insurance policy. police will issue photos/videography of the road accident site. Within 48 hours, the police will send the FAR report to the Claims Tribunal and the insurance company. The interim accident report has to be submitted to the Claims Tribunal within 50 days of the accident. criminal cases will have to be investigated within 60 days. The insurance company will settle the claim of the amount within 30 days from the date of receipt of the detailed accident report. For disputed claims, the insurance company will have to decide based on investigation within one year from the date of the accident.
