World Earth Day 2022 is celebrated all over the world on 22 April. This day has been dedicated for environmental protection. In everyday life, human beings affect the life and environment around them in many ways. The development of technology has caused great damage to the climate. Because of these, global warming is being promoted. This global warming has brought many problems like heat wave, drought, flood, storm as well as pollution.
Air pollution takes 70 lakh lives every year
According to the report of the World health Organization (WHO), about millions of people die every year due to environmental causes, of which more than 7 million lose their lives due to air pollution alone. In the new data released by the World health Organization, it has been confirmed that almost everyone living around the world is breathing polluted air.
Any level of pollution is lethal
The WHO report also states that even low levels of pollution are fatal. According to the report, particulate matter enters the lungs and affects blood circulation. This can lead to heart disease, stroke and breathing problems. It also states that nitrogen oxide or NO2 can also cause asthma and other respiratory diseases.
WHO recommends building safe and affordable public transport systems and implementing stricter vehicular emissions. It has also suggested several measures including investing in clean energy and power generation and improving industry management.
