YouTube channels blocked by the government???
The central government has once again banned 16 YouTube channels by doing a wallet PLATFORM' target='_blank' title='digital-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW'>digital strike. Out of the 16 YouTube channels that have been banned, 10 channels are from india while 6 belong to Pakistan. The government has banned these channels for spreading false information.
It has been told by the government that all the banned YouTube channels were spreading propaganda related to India's national security, foreign relations and public order. Apart from these channels, the central government has also blocked one facebook account.
The central government on monday blocked 16 YouTube channels, which includes 6 Pakistani accounts, for circulating fake information. The blocked YouTube channels together had over 68 million subscribers. All these were blocked under the IT Rules, 2021.
It was said by the government that these channels were being used to spread fake news on social media on matters related to national security, India's foreign relations, communal harmony and public order in the country. None of the wallet PLATFORM' target='_blank' title='digital-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW'>digital news publishers had furnished the required information to the Ministry under Rule 18 of the IT Rules, 2021. So, the indian government has banned a total of 16 YouTube channels, including 6 YouTube channels from Pakistan.
