What should people do to survive cyclone Mandous..?

As Cyclone  Mandous makes landfall near Chennai, here are the steps people should take to stay safe and take precautions.

A safe place:

People should stay in a safe place. This is because when the cyclone crosses the coast, the wind speed is more than 100 kmph, so there is a high chance of trees and poles falling. Tiles and roofs are in ruins. Old grids will collapse. Those living in such houses have to go to government relief camps or relatives' houses to stay.

Avoid travel:

As already mentioned, when the cyclone crosses the coast, the wind will blow at high speed. So you should not travel anywhere outside during that time. If you go overboard, chances are high that trees and poles will fall on you. Even when buildings collapse, there are chances of being caught in that accident. When power poles are tilted, there are chances of electrical accidents. Keeping this in mind, people must avoid going outside during storms.

Do not use electricity in homes while the cyclone is making landfall. This is because there are chances of excessive current flowing due to an accident. It is likely to cause an unavoidable accident at home.
