Tiger Deaths: Why each and every tiger is important?
24 Tigers death in one month: On one hand, there are significant assertions that india contains 70 per cent of the world's tigers and that a great deal of tiger deaths occur here.
Tiger comes at the top of the food chain. If there are no tigers, then the population of vegetarian animals like deer will increase. If their population increases, the forests will end. If the forests end, the entire ecosystem will be shaken. That's why the forest where the tiger is present is called a healthy forest.
To understand why each and every tiger is so important to us, it is very important to understand the life cycle of a tiger. A tigress usually gives birth to three to four cubs. Out of which 80 per cent of the children die before they grow up. Even if a child survives, then the tigress does not mate until it is over two years old. One more thing, the average age of a tiger in the wild is 12 to 15 years. Meaning if he lives his whole life then he cannot live more in the jungle. Now if you calculate, you will understand why tigers are so important.
Then how is the population of leopards increasing?
The tiger population will not increase just like that. Concrete steps have to be taken for that. You must be thinking that leopard is also big cat like tiger, but their population is increasing rapidly. So it is important to know one thing about this also. Leopards give birth to one or two cubs and the leopard cub is separated from the mother when it is about a year old, while the tiger cub stays with the mother for at least two years. Another special thing about the increase in the population of leopards is that the leopard stays away from the areas where there are tigers. This means leopards like to live around human habitation around forests.
