Apart from humans, animals are also suffering due to bad weather in Uttarakhand. A big accident took place in the forest of Mathanau Tok on sunday morning. Here 350 goats died due to lightning. As soon as the information about the incident was received, the teams of the Revenue Department, Animal Husbandry Department and SDRF reached the spot.
It is being told that a farmer in the Barsu area was going to Tok forest for grazing with about 1200 sheep and goats. The path of Khatukhal of Dunda had reached near Mathanau Tok when suddenly the weather turned bad. Just then, with a bright flash, celestial lightning fell near the herd of sheep and goats. In which 350 goats were hit and they died on the spot.
The Tehsildar of the area Dunda Pratap Singh Chauhan told that the death of goats has been reported due to lightning. In this regard, information was given to the district administration and the veterinary department. After this, the Revenue Department, Animal Husbandry Department and SDRF teams reached the spot. He told that in the summer season, the people of the Barsu region go to this forest for grazing sheep and goats.
Farmer demanded compensation
The farmer has requested government compensation for this loss. The local BJP leader said that such accidents often happen with cattle herders, but the cattle herders do not get proper compensation. He has demanded the chief minister and the Animal Husbandry minister give proper compensation to the cattle rearers.
