Widespread protests against offline exams?


Due to the Covid-19 epidemic, the studies of the students were badly affected for 2 years. In most universities and colleges, online mode studies were conducted for 2 years. Now all of a sudden students are confused due to studying in completely offline mode.


There were widespread protests when allahabad university announced to conduct offline exams on march 24. university officials said that when the situation is once again normal after the epidemic, then the exams should also be conducted in the normal way.


The university administration bowed before the protest

The officials have taken this decision after a high-level meeting. The students opposed this decision. The students demanded that the examinations should be conducted in the online mode because the studies have also been done online. allahabad university had to decide on 25 march that all second-year students will be promoted and the third-year students' exam will be conducted online.


In other places, students protested

In most of the universities in India, the exam is conducted under the semester system. There is an examination at the end of every semester. Normally the examinations are conducted in May-June and November-December. This time, many universities have decided to conduct offline exams for the semester ending in May-June 2022. There have been protests in most places due to the hostel system, exam schedule, and hybrid class timetable.


Visva Bharati University 

Students at Visva-Bharati university in Shantiniketan, West bengal are protesting against the decision of offline exams without reopening the hostels. After 26 consecutive days of protest by the students, the decision of the online exam had to be taken from april 18.

What has happened in Delhi?

At delhi university, students are demanding that their final semester exams be conducted online. The university reopened in February. It has also decided to conduct offline exams for the students in the second, fourth and sixth semesters. Semester examinations for the first, third and fifth semesters can be conducted in online mode.

Students say that if the studies have been done in online mode, then the examination should also be conducted online. Some students are also against this decision. In such a situation, it will be seen how the university administration will continue the classes in the coming days.
