Which minerals are special for India?

Every country has its own needs. Therefore, every country decides which minerals are special for it. How do they decide? How much progress is the country making, what does the industry of that country need, what is the security need of the country, what is the demand for new technology, what is going on in the market and which minerals are found in the country, they decide by looking at all these things.

The Ministry of Mines of the government of india has made a list of 30 such minerals which are very important for technology and power generation works. These are the 30 special minerals: Antimony, Beryllium, Bismuth, Cobalt, Copper, Gallium, Germanium, Graphite, Hafnium, Indium, Lithium, Molybdenum, Niobium, Nickel, Platinum Group Elements (PGE), Phosphorus, Potash, Rare Earth Elements (REE), Rhenium, Silicon, Strontium, Tantalum, Tellurium, Tin, Titanium, Tungsten, Vanadium, Zirconium, Selenium, Cadmium.

World of Space and Special Minerals

India is now doing big work in space as well. Preparations are underway for big missions like 'Gaganyaan'. A lot of special minerals are needed for all this. India's Space Research Organization (ISRO) is moving very ahead. They plan to build their own space station by 2035. Very strong magnets, special types of metals and very good electronics are needed to make satellites and spacecraft. Only special minerals are used to make all these things.
