Bengaluru Woman Secures 7th Rank in NEET PG Exam

A 25-year-old woman from Bengaluru has achieved remarkable success by securing the 7th rank in the NEET PG exam. Hamsavardhini v recently made headlines for her impressive performance, which included being awarded 48 gold medals and prizes during the convocation ceremony at Christian Medical college (CMC) in Vellore. Her dedication and hard work paid off, as she attained this notable rank in the NEET PG 2024 exams, the results of which were announced on Saturday.

Hamsavardhini, an alumnus of National Public school Indiranagar in Bengaluru, began her medical journey by clearing the NEET in 2016, which was a prerequisite for admission to CMC. Her decision to pursue medicine was deeply influenced by her grandmother's death due to undiagnosed congenital heart disease, an event that motivated her to enter the medical field.

After completing her medical degree in May 2022 and fulfilling her mandatory two-year service bond at CMC, Hamsavardhini was assigned to Pediatric Oncology in 2021. Despite a demanding schedule of 48 to 60 hours per week, she made the most of her two days off to prepare for her postgraduate entrance exams. She now aims to specialize in internal medicine at CMC, with a particular interest in hematology, believing that this field will enable her to address a wide range of medical conditions.

In addition to her medical achievements, Hamsavardhini is also a talented Bharatnatyam dancer. She began training in the dance form at age six under her mother's guidance and has continued to integrate it into her life. She credits Bharatnatyam with enhancing her physical endurance, focus, and creativity.
