Supreme court Declines to Postpone Group 1 Exams Amid Aspirants' Concerns

In a significant ruling, the supreme court of india has decided not to intervene in the ongoing Group 1 examinations scheduled to commence today in Telangana. This verdict comes amidst a heated dispute between the telangana government and the Group 1 aspirants, who had requested a postponement of the exams citing concerns regarding the recently implemented G.O. 29.

The supreme Court's three-judge bench, led by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, expressed that it would not grant interim orders to delay the examination process at this late stage. The court's decision is based on the current circumstances surrounding the case, emphasizing the importance of maintaining the examination schedule.

The Group 1 aspirants had raised apprehensions that G.O. 29 would put reserved category candidates at a disadvantage, prompting many to approach the supreme court for relief. However, the court ruled against their plea, thereby allowing the exams to proceed as planned.

The Group 1 Mains exams are set to take place across 46 centers in Hyderabad, Rangareddy, and medchal Malkajgiri districts, with approximately 31,383 candidates expected to participate. As the exams begin, candidates and their supporters are left to navigate the implications of the supreme Court's decision, as well as the government's policies affecting their future opportunities.
