Bharat Ratna is the most precious award. people around the world will be honoured with this award. The narendra modi government at the Centre has made history by announcing Bharat Ratna, the highest civilian award in India, for five individuals in a single year, breaking the previous record set in 1999 when four people were honoured. 

The recipients of the Bharat Ratna in 2024 are bihar Chief minister Karpuri Thakur, veteran politician and former Deputy prime minister LK Advani, former Prime Ministers PV narasimha Rao and Chaudhary Charan Singh, and the father of the Green Revolution MS Swaminathan.


This prestigious award has been given since 1954, with the first recipients being Vice President Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, governor General C. Rajagopalachari, and scientist CV Raman. The Bharat Ratna is awarded to individuals who have made outstanding contributions and excelled in various fields. The prime minister recommends the awardees to the President, and there is no formal recommendation process.


This year's recipients bring the total number of Bharat Ratna awardees to 53. The award includes a certificate signed by the President and a medal, and there is no associated cash prize. The Bharat Ratna is a recognition of exceptional service and achievements in various domains.
