How effective is tomato against cancer?


You may have heard a lot about the health benefits of eating tomatoes, but do you know which diseases are not caused by eating tomatoes?

One study found that by consuming tomatoes daily, you could stave off skin cancer problems. Yes, scientists have confirmed in their studies the ability of tomatoes to fight cancer.

Scientists say the compound, which causes tomatoes to turn dark red, helps protect them from the sun's ultraviolet rays. Tomatoes are said to help prevent the growth of cancerous tumors and remove them. New research shows that red tomatoes help dissolve carotenoids.


Medicinal properties

Lycopene, a chemical found in tomatoes, is known to fight cancer. According to the study, fruits or vegetables cannot be said to be medicinal. But eating them greatly reduces the chances of getting diseases.

Non-melanoma skin cancer is the most common in the world. Millions of people worldwide are diagnosed with this cancer each year.

Research conducted on rats

Scientists at Ohio State university conducted experiments on mice under this study, they formed two groups of mice. Tomatoes were added in large quantities for 35 weeks in a group diet. Tomatoes were not added to another group.

The two groups were then placed between the UV rays. Mice-fed tomato powder has a 50 percent lower risk of developing cancer.

Research has shown that tomatoes also help reduce colon cancer. Walnuts prevent breast and prostate cancer. Garlic, on the other hand, prevents breast and colon cancer.
