Blood and urine samples of people who got food poisoning were also examined. Through this Shigella was confirmed.
What is shigella virus?
Shigella virus causes an infection called shigellosis. Due to this, symptoms like diarrhea, fever and abdominal pain appear. Sometimes blood also comes in the stool of the patient. The risk of infection is high by drinking contaminated food or water. Experts call it an infectious disease. In such a situation, this disease can also be caused by coming in contact with a person infected with Shigella.
What is treatment and prevention?
At present there is no vaccine for it. Antibiotics are given for its treatment. Apart from this, cleanliness is very important to overcome this. Doctors recommend washing hands frequently with soap in such cases. Maintaining cleanliness around is very important to avoid such cases.
