Does a high humidity level cause blood sugar to rise?

Exercise and Activity: In high humidity, people are often less active because the heat makes physical exertion uncomfortable. Reduced physical activity can decrease the body’s ability to use insulin effectively, leading to higher blood sugar levels. Physical inactivity is a known risk factor for insulin resistance, which is why staying active is crucial for maintaining healthy blood sugar levels.

Medication and insulin Sensitivity: High temperatures and humidity can also affect the stability and effectiveness of insulin and other medications used to manage diabetes. If insulin is exposed to excessive heat, it may become less effective, leading to less control over blood glucose levels.

Hydration: Maintaining proper hydration is critical, especially in humid conditions, to help regulate blood sugar levels. Drinking plenty of water can help the kidneys flush out excess glucose through urine and keep blood sugar levels in check.
