Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals' Neurology Senior Consultant Dr PN Ranjen says that eat a balanced diet that contains all the vitamins and nutrients mentioned above in abundance. If there is a deficiency of any vitamin in your body, then take supplements with the advice of a doctor.
Spend some time in the sun every day to increase the level of vitamin D. Keep getting blood tests done from time to time so that any vitamin deficiency can be detected and treated early. If there is a problem of depression or overthinking, then definitely consult a doctor or a mental health specialist.
Is depression treatable?
Depression is absolutely treatable. Psychological treatment is the first treatment for depression. In this, the patient has to talk to an expert who helps you understand and change your thoughts, feelings and behavior. For this, you can go to a psychologist or psychiatrist. The second treatment is antidepressant meditation (medicines). In moderate and severe depression, medicines can also be given along with psychological treatment. Mild depression usually does not require medicines.
Psychological treatment teaches the patient ways to think in a new way, deal with problems and build relationships with others. This may include conversations with experts and trained people. This conversation can also be face-to-face or online. Patients themselves can also get psychological treatment through books, websites and apps.
