The meteorologists have already announced that it is going to be hot summer this year.  But have you heard of a year, when it snowed during the summer? The reason for it was the Mount Tambora volcano eruption in Indonesia.
It was the biggest explosion recorded by a volcano. On April 5, 1816, Mount Tambora volcano erupted in Sumbawa island of Indonesia. Lava scattered on a scale of six kilometers. Large amounts of gases, dust, and dirt were released into the atmosphere. The blast killed at least 10,000 people living on the island of Sumbawa. Vibration is caused by volcanic eruptions, tsunamis caused by lava falling into the sea. A boom in diseases occurred. Another 80-90 thousand died on the surrounding islands.

Dust, dirt, and gases emitted from volcanoes Spread over thousands of kilometers even reached elevations in the atmosphere (up to the stratosphere) lasting for few months. The eruption ejected 160–213 cubic kilometers of material into the atmosphere. This is the largest volcanic eruption on Earth in the last ten thousand years. Scientists at the University of Edinburgh in the UK have conducted extensive research and produced a report.
Overall, the explosion effect reduced the amount of sunlight reaching the earth due to dust, dirt, and black gases in the sky. This caused the average global temperature to drop by three degrees. The year was gone without the summer sun. Summer is from June to September in Europe and North America. But in 1816 from June to September it continued to snow. It was the lowest global temperature recorded.
Due to the global temperatures drop a huge of rainfall was very less causing droughts at many places. Almost all farming around the world was damaged. Crops in North America, Europe, and North Asia have been hit by persistent snowfall. Severe drought has hit many countries. The people had to eat the meat of sheep, goats, and other livestock. Monsoons were chaotic in India and China. During the summer, torrential rains fell and large-scale floods occurred. Most of the crops were damaged. The famine of 1816 is estimated to have killed millions around the world due to lack of food or cold. Scientists learned a large-scale migration to areas where the climate is stable happened. Animals a the main means of transportation, ran out of fodder that year. Charges for human and freight transport have also increased. This was said to be one of the main reasons for the inventing cycle in the following year.
