289 years old story about Budget!!!


Every month you make the budget for your house, but for the past few days, the word 'budget' is in a lot of discussions. The reason is that the budget of the country is going to be presented on february 1. All our eyes are on this budget, everyone has hope. Now the question is whether it is about the expenditure and savings of the house or the country has only one word for it - budget.

Where did this word come from? What does it mean?

The term budget is acquired from the French phrase 'bouge', it signifies a small bag. Sir Robert Walpole, the former finance minister of England, has been credited with introducing the term. In 1733, Walpole came to the house carrying financial statements in a bag. When someone asked him what was in the bag, he said that there is a budget for you guys in it. After this, a magazine also published an article mocking Walpole's point. Its title was- Budget opened. It is said that from that time the word budget started being used for the description of financial accounts, which has remained till date.
