Karmaveerar Kamarajar 120th Birth Anniversary Celebration. In a statement released by the government of tamil Nadu in this regard, on behalf of the government of tamil Nadu on 15.07.2022 at 10.00 am Hon'ble Ministers are going to attend and pay floral tributes to the portrait of Kamarajar in front of Pallavan House, Chennai.
Perunthalaivar KamaraJar was born on 15.07.1903 to Kumaraswamy and Sivagami in Virudhunagar. Introduced by one of the leaders of the congress movement, Dr. Varadarajulu Naidu, he participated in various freedom struggles from 1919 onwards.
In 1954, Perunthalaivar Kamarajar, who won as a member of the Legislative assembly from the Gudiyatham constituency, took charge as the chief minister of tamil Nadu.
Karmaveer Kamarajar, who reached the pinnacle of government due to his tireless work, created a renaissance in education by starting primary schools in every village during his 9-year rule. He came up with the free mid-day meal scheme to help poor students get an education in schools.
After assuming office as the chief minister in 2006, Muthamizharinagara Kalainar declared 15th July, the birthday of Perundhalaivar Kamarasar, as "Educational Development Day". His birthday continues to be celebrated as education Development Day. On the first Educational Development Day 15.07.2006, they implemented the scheme of giving eggs twice a week to children between 2 years to 15 years of age and school students with nutrition.
