This creature living in the sea never dies!!!
It is said that whoever is born in this world has to die. But, there is a creature on this earth which refutes this. Actually, it is said about this creature found in the depths of the sea that it never dies biologically. Let us tell you about it in detail.
What is the name of this jellyfish?
The name of this jellyfish is Turritopsis dohrnii. Which the world knows as "immortal jellyfish" in simple language. This is a very unique sea creature which is known all over the world for its amazing life cycle and unique regenerative abilities. While every organism moves towards death after birth, these organisms develop themselves again before reaching close to death as if they are a new child.
Life happens in two stages
The entire life cycle of this organism happens in two stages. First polyp stage and second medusa stage. This organism lives its life in these two stages. First understand the polyp stage. The life of Turritopsis dohrnii begins as a polyp. In this stage, this jellyfish sticks to the sea floor and keeps developing. Whereas, in the second i.e. medusa stage, this jellyfish grows up and starts swimming in the sea. In this stage, this jellyfish reproduces and also lays eggs.
How does this jellyfish make itself immortal?
Actually, Turritopsis dohrnii jellyfish has a specialty. This jellyfish can develop its entire body again. That is, if any part of the body of this jellyfish is injured or damaged, then this fish develops it again immediately. After a certain time, when this jellyfish starts getting old, it reaches the polyp stage from the medusa stage and reconstructs its entire body. This process is called "transdifferentiation".
