How much has the income of people increased in villages?

In the last one year, the average income of people living in villages has increased by Rs 349, while in cities this increase has been Rs 537. That is, the pace of income growth in villages is 65% as compared to cities.

In most states, the income of villages has increased less than that of cities. But in some states like Karnataka, andhra pradesh and Haryana, the income of villages has increased more than cities. In some states like Kerala, bihar and Uttar Pradesh, the income of villages is increasing at a very good pace. But the situation is worrying in states like Maharashtra, Himachal and Rajasthan, because the income of villages there is increasing at a very slow pace.

In such a situation, the question arises whether the development of villages has stopped in Maharashtra, Himachal and Rajasthan? On this, economist Mohammad Shoaib ahmed said, 'If seen at the ground level, the situation of BIMARU states like bihar, Odisha, rajasthan has not improved much. Development is happening, but not at the pace it should have been.'
