Why do communal riots erupt?
To understand this, we spoke to the spokespersons of bjp and Samajwadi Party. Samajwadi party spokesperson Azam Khan told ABP News, the policies of the current bjp government somehow provoke the minority community. The rule of law is no longer there anywhere. Due to this, the minority community is upset with the current government. The second reason is that when processions of the Hindu community take place, such slogans are raised so that people of other communities get agitated. people of other communities are deliberately provoked to say or do something. The government also supports these people.
At the same time, bjp leader Atif Rashid told ABP News, 'The history of communal riots in india is very old. If you look at the data from 1947 to 2025, you will know that the last 10 years have been the safest. After 2014, there has been no such major riot in the country, in which houses were burnt or hundreds of people were murdered in public. If riots happened, then there were only a few. Sometimes there may be tension from one side in a procession, but there is no loss of life or property. Sometimes a community feels that they are being provoked, then there is a reaction. But then the administration also takes immediate action.'
Atif Rashid further said, "Earlier in the era of congress government, riots used to happen for months. PAC had to be deployed, curfew had to be imposed. There used to be a pile of dead bodies, hundreds of houses used to burn, after 2014 there has been no such riot that was not controlled within 24 hours. Today we have forgotten the word curfew. Earlier the police used to shoot at the common people, now this does not happen. From independence till 2013, more than 1.5 lakh riots took place across the country. Today india is becoming 'riot free'."
Senior journalist SP Bhatia told ABP News, 'In every society, some people call themselves contractors of religion. These people pretend that they are well-wishers of the society, well-wishers of their religion, they want their welfare. In this way they influence the thoughts of the common people, try to control them. They criticize or praise the work of the government according to their agenda. These anti-social elements encourage riots.
