Where is Parshuram ji's axe?

There is a hill in Gumla district, about 150 km from Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, where Tanginath Dham is located. It is claimed that Lord Parshuram's axe is in a temple of this Dham. It is said that Parshuram himself had buried the axe here.

This axe is under the open sky, but it is said that it never rusted. Even many attempts were made to uproot it but all failed. It is no less than a mystery how it is safe even after thousands of years.

How did the axe come here?

When Shri ram broke the bow of Lord shiva, Parshuram ji became very angry. He said a lot of bad things in anger but when he realized his mistake, he felt very ashamed and went to a mountain in the middle of dense forests to atone for his actions. There he buried his axe and started doing penance. It is claimed that Tanginath Dham is the same place.

Who gave the axe to Parshuram ji?

Lord shiva gifted him many divine weapons. One of those invincible weapons was also an axe which is called Parashu. To destroy evil, Parshuram had killed the Haya dynasty kshatriya kings 36 times with this same axe.
