A lion was taking a nap under a tree. A tiny mouse came out from his hole and climbed up the lion’s back. The lion was disturbed. He woke up roaring and caught the mouse in his paws.
The mouse squeaked, “Oh! I am sorry sir. I did not mean to disturb you. Please let me go. I’ll surely help me whenever you need me in the future.”
The lion laughed loudly, “What can a tiny, squeaky mouse do for me ? All right, I’ll let you go.” So the lion let the mouse go and sleep again.
Many days later some hunters spread a net to catch the lion. The lion got caught in it. As he roared in desperation, the mouse heard the lion and recognized his voice. He rushed to see what was wrong. He saw the lion caught in the net.
The hunters were nowhere in sight. Quickly the mouse started nibbling at the strong ropes. After a while, he had chewed off the ropes and freed the lion. The lion hugged the tiny mouse thankfully. He now knew that the mouse had helped him as he had promised.
